Bangalore : A fake IPS officer who was wearing a police officer's uniform, carrying a fake pistol and a walkie-talkie and taking money from the public was arrested.
Arrested by Talaghattapura station police, an resident of 5th Cross, Netravati Road, Marutinagar of Chandralayout
Srinivas (34) Arrested. Police had recovered 36.20 lakhs in cash, 54 lakhs worth car, 4 bikes including BMW bike, mobile, fake pistol, laptop, 4 walkie-talkies and fake identity cards from him.
in the year 2010, a case was registered in the Vijayanagara police station for stealing two cars and the accused had gone to jail.
Later he studied BCA in Karnataka Open University, Begurukoppa, Bannerghatta. He joined a school near Hullahalli as a graphic designer and by introducing himself as IPS officer to Ramya who used to work in the same school and cheated her by making her to believe him about that, he would marry her.
The accused is from a poor background, imitated police officers who appear in movies to do business and live a luxurious life.
He has disguised himself as an IPS officer to earn easy money.
Srinivas, who was introduced by a friend named Venkatanarayan had complained about, himself believed him as an police officer, and had given him Rs. 1.25 crores to fake IPS officer, and then when only he was returned back 50 lakhs only and the remaining 1.75 crores was cheated, the matter was brought to the police, they have registered a case based on the complaint that he had cheated and had arrested the accused.
